What is String Algae?
Long, stringy green algae grows very fast. It can be hand harvested,
or treated with S.A.B. (String Algae Buster). The best way to treat
string algae bloom is to balance the pond with pond plants. Pond
plants feed from the waste of the fish, as well as the debris in the
pond. Plants also help with clarity.
Another cause of string algae may be that you are feeding your fish
too much (fish waste helps promote the growth of string algae). We
recommend feeding three times a week. Try to set a schedule like
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
